To review all patients over 18yrs with Paracetamol on repeat template to check prescribed correct dose for their weight and if below 50kg to ensure dose amended following discussion with patient. To help reduce the risk of toxicity.
Large number of patients have Paracetamol on repeat but a number of them are less than 50kg and still prescribed the maximum dose which could increase the risk of problems. When contacted these patients were usually happy to change to a lower dose when the reasons where explained.
