On Wednesday 15th April 1pm - 2pm, we welcome Ilves Sanna to present on Cancer Vaccines: "Transforming Vaccine Delivery Through Innovation".

This presentation explores the role of cancer vaccines in transforming cancer treatment and prevention by leveraging the immune system, highlighting key innovations such as personalised and mRNA-based vaccines alongside their manufacturing, storage, and governance challenges. It also emphasises the critical role of pharmacy in ensuring clinical safety, regulatory compliance, and operational delivery, enabling the successful implementation of advanced vaccine therapies within healthcare systems.

Ilves Sanna is the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials and Aseptic Services at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the delivery of complex IMPs and aseptic services supporting oncology research and advanced therapies. She has extensive experience in clinical trials, including the safe management and governance of ATMPs, and cancer vaccines.

She has played a key role in developing and implementing pharmacy-led models for the delivery of innovative therapies, including personalised cancer vaccines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting national and multi-centre research initiatives. Her professional interests focus on advancing clinical trial infrastructure, enabling safe and efficient delivery of novel therapies, and strengthening the role of pharmacy in innovation, precision medicine, and cancer vaccine development.
